Thousands of supporters gathered in Yola on Sunday as Chief Felix Tangwami formally declared his intention to contest in the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State.
Addressing a large and enthusiastic crowd, Tangwami described himself as a grassroots politician with a deep understanding of the state’s challenges and opportunities.
He highlighted his experience serving in the current administration under Governor Umaru Fintiri, where he holds the position of Commissioner for Health.
According to him, his close involvement in governance and direct engagement with communities across the state have equipped him with the insight needed to deliver improved leadership and development outcomes.
“I have worked closely with the current administration, i'm well equipped and i understand the challenges of the state. With the support of the people of Adamawa State, I am confident we can achieve even greater progress for our state,” He said.
Meanwhile, some of the supporters who spoke with journalists expressed confidence in Tangwami’s leadership capacity, describing him as experienced, accessible, and capable of steering the state toward further development.
"Tangwami is more than Fintiri plus, he is Fintiri pro Max" Raymond Bwano said..
Tangwami called on citizens to rally behind his ambition and urged them to offer both their support and prayers as he embarks on the political journey.
